Holmfirth Wedding Photography – Sam & Nathan

Holmfirth Wedding Photography from Sam & Nathan’s Peacock themed Alternative Wedding.

An Emotional Rollercoaster of Prosecco, Dancing and a Few Tears

The bride-to-be and a few of her bridesmaids and the mother of the bride were getting ready at her house in Holmfirth, a quaint village in Yorkshire set in a stunning landscape. Some of Sam’s bridesmaids were there to help out, and the close relationships were very evident as there were cuddles and tears a plenty! The colours of the peacock theme were scattered through the house, in the shape of lovely handmade bouquets and strikingly coloured bridesmaids dresses. Sam had hand made so much of her wedding details, and it was so nice to see it all coming together!

Bridesmaids Helping to Get The Bride Wedding Ready

Sam had her bridal hair done by one of her bridesmaids, who skilfully wound the dreadlocks into a fancy alternative, white wedding up-do – and similarly another attendant did her make up. After this, she popped upstairs to get ready and her striking, unique dress, also with a peacock feather design, brought tears to her friends’ eyes as she paraded it into the front room, whilst they all sipped on Prosecco.

Off to Quaint Holmbridge Church and Village Hall

Holmbridge is a quaint Village in the Holme Valley of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, in Holmfirth – sat near to Glossop and Huddersfield. As an avid lover of Yorkshire, and not being too far from home, I was more than happy to be in this lovely little place. Sam and Nathan were having their ceremony in St David’s Church, Holmbridge, situated next to the Village Hall, which they would have their food and reception at.

Bridal Party head to the church for the Ceremony

The bridal party set off into the drizzle with their umbrellas at the ready, mood not dampened at all. The guests chattered and Nathan looked on nervously ahead of his betrothed’s arrival. The ceremony was lovely, and the guests sang with enthusiastic gusto, and captured the heart of their relationship in the energy brought to the surface. The vows were moving, but yet still the service had light hearted giggles and laughter throughout – whilst being moving to anyone who watched.

Carrying on the Celebrations

The wedding party crossed over to the Village Hall after the Ceremony, for a fun filled evening of food, drinks, cocktails, games and dancing. There was a gorgeous buffet served for everyone, and the atmosphere was of fun and laughter. The speeches brought laughter and tears from. Early everyone in the room, the father of the bride, groom and best man all giving great efforts.

Evening Music, Drinking and an Incredible First Dance

The evening celebrations carried on the feeling of the day – emotive and fun. A friend played acoustic guitar for them, and the first dance was Aerosmith’s ‘Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’. This was unlike any first dance I have seen before, and half way through they called on all their guests to join with them – they all proceed to hold on to each other and sing their hearts out until there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
