Sam & Stuart had a gorgeous alternative wedding by the sea at The Spa Hotel in Saltburn. Set up above the sea front, surrounded by unrivalled panoramics, the Spa Hotel in Saltburn is a great place to have a wedding, as this alternative couple found out for sure!
Smiles all round at Bridal Prep
As I got to Saltburn, I was greeted by glorious sunshine and beaming smiles from all the lovely ladies at Sam’s bridal prep in the morning; due to an unfortunate incident a couple of days prior, Sam had a bandaged thumb – but by no means did it stop the wedding being so much fun. Sam and her daughter Willow had matching leather jackets with some awesome decor on the back, and a lovely little box from Rock n Roll Bride! As Sam had her blood red lipstick applied, and her little flowergirl danced around in her gothic fairy wings, it became clear that the day was going to be an fantastic celebration of unique proportions.
Not forgetting the men of the hour!
I made a short trip down to see Stu, his best man and of course their page boy – who all looked dapper as hell, and were having a quick drink in the bar downstairs before the upcoming nuptials. We popped outside to check out the incredible views over the cliffs and onto the beach, which were surrounded by coastline and countryside. After attaching the groom and his entourage’s buttonholes, we headed back inside.
Gothic Decor A-plenty!
The Ceremony Room at the Spa Hotel was decorated with lots of lovely gothic bits and bobs of Sam & Stu’s choosing, from moss and ram skulls to the gorgeous blood red flowers, to the beautiful Death’s Head Hawk Moth (I’m a big of a bug geek! So I was happy to see this) which makes an appearance in the Hannibal Lecter films, there were ram skulls and gorgeous candles which all added to the macabre ambience.
A Beautiful Intimate Ceremony
Sam & Stu’s Family & Friends collected in the cosy ceremony room at Saltburn, for this lovely alternative wedding. The Bridal Party entered first, followed by the stunning Sam. The vows were lovely and Sam’s smile beamed for the entirety; Their son Aiden brought the rings and stood proudly in front of his parents, he was an excellent page boy!
Breathtaking, Blustery Views
We headed out for pictures just after the ceremony and were greeted by gorgeous blue skies and unrivalled panoramic views, but we did battle with a few blustery gusts of wind. But this never dampened anyone’s enthusiasm! Overlooking the beach, we tackled the group photos and then headed inside for a lovely afternoon tea and some hilarious speeches – Aiden had a go, with some encouragement from a bridesmaid, but he killed it at the end with his speech. The dancing went on until late, and I loved every minute! I’ve been so lucky to meet this lovely little family and I really do wish them all the best.
So! Check out their EPIC alternative highlight film, and have a scroll through their images.
