This Summer I had the pleasure of being Helen & Andy’s Wedding Photographer at Ashfield House in Wigan – and what an absolutely incredible day it was! The venue is one of my new favourites, and these two newlyweds have such visibly natural bond, that they made the job with my camera very easy.
Ashfield House – An Elegant Wedding Venue
This exclusive, family run wedding venue in Wigan boasts chic interior, period features and beautiful landscaped gardens which all added to the elegance of this celebration. An ideal location, situated on the borders of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside gives this country house a magnificent backdrop to so many gorgeous weddings. Although Ashfield House has a luxury feel with its ornate columns an gorgeous light flooded bay windows, the staff give a light, friendly and personal touch to the service which leaves everyone feeling welcome and at ease.
Helen & The Bridesmaids
The bridal entourage were getting ready in a beautiful, quirky Bridal Sitting Room when I arrived – the hair was being done by Wedlocks and Beautiful make-up by Kerry Baker: Make-up Artist; I was greeted by smiling faces and light hearted chatted. As the morning progressed and I snapped away at the photos, Helen and her bridesmaids and mother of the bride nibbled away at sandwiches and sipped at champagne whilst getting ready for the upcoming celebrations. Everyone was relaxed and excited, and as Helen got into her stunning bridal gown I left to go and pay a visit to the groom and arriving guests.
Stunning Greenery in the Ceremony Room
Andy and his groomsmen were down in the lobby greeting guests, and fastening their buttonholes to the lapels of their jackets. The room was expertly dressed by the florist The Rose Boutique who had done an amazing job of bringing together some lovely floral aspects. Helen and her bridesmaids walked down the aisle to many a teary eye, and readings from friends helped make it a wonderful ceremony.
Relaxed, Fun Reception and Lots of Dancing!
After their lovely ceremony, the newlyweds headed out for the bouquet toss, confetti, and a nice relaxed meal – followed by dancing until the early hours – including a beautiful first dance. The cake was from The Pink Frosting Cake Company and the band provided some lovely music, whilst the guests enjoyed themselves.
I’m really excited to now share with you some images from this wonderful couple’s big day, don’t forget to watch their Wedding Film too.
