The Black Horse is a gorgeous, rustic family owned and run wedding venue in Clifton, Yorkshire. It has a quaint, homely, cottage feel to it and I have loved every wedding that I have photographed here.  This venue is a perfect example of great Yorkshire hospitality and this charming 17th Century building at the heart of the historic village, Clifton, in West Yorkshire, would be a wonderful place to get married. It suits my style of photography perfectly, and brings out the relaxed, documentary style that I love. It’s a great venue for families to relax in, and if we’re lucky enough for the sun to come out, the courtyard is a total sun trap, completely away from the wind.
The Black Horse Clifton is ideal for those who love Relaxed, Cottage Weddings
Carly and Adam got married at the lovely, relaxed Black Horse Clifton. It’s got such a lovely, natural, cottage feel that sits perfectly in the Yorkshire countryside. This quirky, quaint venue has so much character and it was such a pleasure to return here. It’s beautiful courtyards, traditional oak beams and secluded open fires, give it a quirky charm that would give a romantic feel to any ceremony.
Charming, Quaint, Cottage style rooms perfect for Bridal Preparations
Carly and her bridesmaids got ready in a charming room just next to the Courtyard, whilst the guests mingled in the bar area before we headed over to the ceremony. Her bridesmaids, the flower girls and mother of the bride flitted in and out of this beautiful room, occasionally giving us a glimpse of the warm sun that was beaming down outside. As I popped outside into the secluded courtyard, I captured some quick snaps of some children playing excitedly outside as they waited for their families to finish getting ready,
The Romantic Charm of The Black Horse was perfect for a Wedding Ceremony
The lovely room that Carly and Adam got married in was filled with stunning oak beams and was such a gorgeous, romantic setting for this exchange of vows. The ceremony was lovely, emotive and personal and there was the odd giggle here and there. The feeling was light, relaxed and enjoyable as the couple exchange touching vows, and placed the rings on each other’s fingers. All the time, the best man, groomsmen, bridesmaids and maid of honour looking on proudly. After the traditional customs had been completed, the family and friends cheered and celebrated whilst they had their first kiss.
Celebrations in The Rustic Courtyard
The rain held off for most of the day, which meant the celebrations could take place in the lovely sunny courtyard. We had some lovely, lighthearted family formal photos which helped to create some timeless memories from their big day. Hopefully they will enlarge them on their walls as prints in frames for years to come.
I would love to photograph here again and am looking forward to future couples inviting me back. Congratulations to Carly and Adam!
