Bond Company Digbeth Birmingham Street Art Wedding Photography

I met Jules and Katie at their Engagement Shoot when I photographed them in and around Digbeth. We explored it’s wonderful Street Art, hidden alleyways and gritty urban landscape. We ended up on top of an abandoned building and the photos were genuinely epic. Described as the ‘coolest neighbourhood’ by The Sunday Times, I could see where the appeal came from! So their Digbeth Wedding was something I couldn’t wait to Photograph.

Dresses, Presents, Make up and More

I joined Katie in her hotel room at The Clayton Hotelto capture the morning of their wedding. The lovely Nicola Honey was there already prepping. She took care of Katie’s hair and make up beautifully. The bridesmaids and flower girls were looking gorgeous already. After a few initial morning hiccups, Katie was cheered up by her wonderfully romantic wedding gifts. Jules had bought her a box full of goodies including her favourite bubbly and some stunning jewellery. She was helped into her dress and veil by her wonderful bridesmaids and looked amazing, completing the outfit with her stunning bouquet.

Wedding Suits, Bow Ties and Canal Boats

Jules was joined by the lovely Amy, my second photographer. She was snapping away at them getting ready in a room down the corridor with some family and friends. A couple of suave groomsmen were looking good already in their suits. Jules was wearing an incredibly stylish Mrs Bow Tie. These two have some serious style! Not to mention their shoes, just wow. Katie’s presents to Jules included a minimoon to Barcelona. SO jealous. You can’t choose much better transport for your wedding day than a Maserati and a Canal Boat either. Serious wedding goals!

Two Brides, Some Tears and Hundreds of Smiles

Jules arrived first at The Bond Company in Digbeth and began to greet all their guests. Smiles and tears covered faces as the groomsmen, bridesmaids and flowergirls made their entrance into the one of a kind room. Jules walked down the aisle first with her Dad who were quickly followed by Katie and her Dad. Looking around the room I could see so many happy smiling faces! Lovely vows helped make the whole ceremony beautiful. I know they won’t mind me saying – but the registrar was slightly eccentric, but it only added to the distinct uniqueness of the day.

Street Art, Digbeth and Idyllic Urban Surroundings

Surrounded by confetti canons, the newlyweds walked through their guests for a confetti exit which engulfed them in red love hearts. Walking around Digbeth there were many creative places to use our camera. Our lenses weren’t disappointed as this developing bohemian district. Filled with culture & street art we were spoilt for choice for cool pictures. Places such as Digbeth Dining Club and The Custard Factory bring such a one of kind feel to this neighbourhood. This couple shoot is what dreams are made of!

Speeches, Alice in Wonderland Afternoon Tea & Torch Lit First Dance

Afternoon tea, in the theme of Alice in Wonderland, made way for a brilliant, upbeat night. The speeches made everyone laugh and cry – myself included – before the evening reception guests began to arrive for the party. For their first dance guests shone torches on them as they danced together to a medly of songs. Made better with a bang of a confetti canon half way through and being joined on the dance floor after by all their guests. I am genuinely sad to see the back of this wedding and wish this couple all the happiness in the world.
