Old Barn at Esholt Yorkshire Wedding Photography – Kelly & Ben

So this summer, I had the huge pleasure of shooting the big day of Kelly & Ben. I photographed their wedding at The Old Barn at Esholt, which is in a lovely little picturesque village in my home county of West Yorkshire. It was such a fun and unique occasion, and I genuinely had so much fun with this lovely, funny, gorgeous pair!

Dogs, Cups of tea and Toasted Bagels!

Kelly & her gorgeous bridesmaids and very lovely parents were all getting ready together in the morning. I turned up to lots of happy, smiley faces and plenty of brews and toasted bagels! I mean .. you definitely can’t complain at all! Hair and makeup was being done in the lovely bright conservatory, and then Keeva the dog turned up! So if you know much about me, you’ll know that dogs are my absolute favourite thing. So I was totally spoiled at Kelly’s fabulous Bridal Prep. So there was already Kelly’s parent’s dog there in the morning, who’s party trick was standing on her back feet, and then the lovely, bouncy Keeva arrived! So nice for her to get involved in the photos. After lots of excitement, we all set off to the church for the ceremony.

I Hope You Have the Time of Your Life

Kelly & Ben had a beautiful service at St Wilfred’s Church in Calverley, surrounded by their friends and loved ones. The words and hymns were lovely, but the best was yet to come! Unbeknown to Kelly & Ben, their family & friends had organised an acoustic singer to come in and perform Green Day‘s – ‘Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)’ and then all of their loved ones stood up and started singing along. I struggled to keep it together! What a truly wonderful moment it was, and this song – which is special to the couple, and especially Kelly & her Dad – was in my head for days after!

Rustic Barn Venue with Rock Music Theme

This was my first time visiting the Old Barn, and it really was lovely – lovely space outside for some photographs, plenty of garden for the guests to have a drink in, and the upstairs was decorated superbly! The wooden beams and the original features, a long side the decorations gave a wonderful look, and the table names were all bands that they had seen together at gigs, which I think is a brilliant idea! The speeches had everyone rolling around laughing, and shedding the odd tear – absolutely fabulous!

Dancing & Party Time!

The evening was great! With band The Leathernecks playing some brilliant music, that had everyone up and dancing. Kelly & Ben had their first dance and then Kelly & her Dad had a dad-daughter dance to that same Green day song. SO GOOD! I just wanted to put my camera down and join in with the fun, such a perfect day and a genuinely fun, caring and welcoming family. I really do wish all the best to Kelly & Ben!
