Rudding Park in Harrogate, Yorkshire is an absolutely stunning Grade 1 listed property and has got to be one of the most beautiful Harrogate Hotels that I have done Wedding Photography at. Perfect for any occasions, but especially weddings as it has an unspoken elegance and air of grandeur that makes the day feel incredibly special from the moment you arrive. The Landscaped Gardens, 19th Century Chapel and Luxury Spa all add to the atmosphere. Set in the picturesque grounds, Rudding Park looks out over the mature woodlands and hills of Yorkshire and boasts 300 acres of land.
A Beautiful Day for an Elegant Wedding
As if the setting wasn’t nice enough, we were lucky enough to have a bright start to the day and the unspoilt beauty of Yorkshire was shown in all its splendour with the sunshine that greeted the guests as they arrived. As the newlyweds prepared for the big day ahead with their close family and friends by them, I made my way to the bridal suite to see the bride, her bridesmaids and the Mother of the Bride getting ready.
Preparations and a Few Pre-wedding Nerves
Laura and her entourage were calmly applying make up and readying their dresses, shoes and bouquets; using my candid style of photography, I snapped away – capturing the relaxed composition of the room and preparations without disturbing the pre-wedding customs. Prosecco was poured and the flower-girl was happily keeping herself quietly with cartoons in the corner. As they carried on perfecting their appearances for the nuptials ahead, I went to see the Groom and give him his pre-wedding presents from his wife-to-be. She had planned some lovely little gifts for her new husband, which would help him get through the day – such as socks to help if he had ‘cold feet’. Stuart’s nerves began to show as he reflected on the day ahead.
Grand Library the Perfect Setting for a Ceremony
An incredibly elegant, unique and timeless string quarter played Foo Fighters Everlong as the bride walked down the aisle, to a teary and emotional room full of guests and groom. They exchanged loving glances and began the vows and promises. A stylish, vintage looking library was the location of the ceremony, and the readings from guests, exchange of rings and vows were all done in this grand room with high ceilings and an idyllic atmosphere. The ceremony was beautiful and touching, bringing a tear to the eye of most.
Confetti and Photos in the Landscaped Gardens
After the new bride and groom had grabbed a quick glass of champagne to celebrate the beginning of wedded bliss, the guests and the new couple all headed outside to throw confetti and have family photos in front of the picturesque backdrop and gorgeous gardens. The meal was set upstairs in a lovely suite, and the evening was started with a cake-cutting, followed closely by a lovely first dance.
I wish Laura and Stuart all the happiness in the world and thank them for allowing me to be there to document the day in photo and video.
