Sandburn Hall York Wedding Photography – Photography by Charli

gorgeous window lighting

It was such a joy to be asked by Ell & Rich to be their Wedding Photographer at their wedding venue Sandburn Hall in Flaxton York. Such a gorgeous wedding in my favourite part of the world – Yorkshire.

A Mutual Love of Dogs

So this lovely bride-to-be not only booked me because she liked my relaxed, documentary style of capturing emotions, but also because she’d seen pictures of my German Shepherd Loco on my website. I am so glad that our love of dogs brought us together, because I was not disappointed when I turned up to their house and I was surrounded by so many cute dogs!! I was literally in my element and I will not apologise for how many dog pictures have made it onto their blog!! Apart from being distracted by all the lovely four legged friends that were running around, I did manage to photograph some of the lovely other happenings too. The bridal preparations for this special day began with Ell being surrounded by her loved ones at her parents gorgeous home. Gifts were exchanged, tears flowed and there was plenty of laughter of course.

Stunning Oak Framed Grand Function Hall for their Ceremony

I was blown away with the gorgeous lighting and stunning aesthetics of this ceremony room at Sandburn Hall. Such stunning views visible out of the huge windows, and it was clear that all the newlyweds loved ones felt the same. Such a beautiful place to get married to the one you love! The music started and the Father of the Bride, Glenn, walked her in to an expectant Richard who was beaming with pride. Smiles and laughter were exchanged and a quick handshake, before the vows and ring exchange could begin. The love between these two was so very evident and their faces lit up for the entire ceremony.

Drinks, Laughter & Photos in the White Rose Garden

After the ceremony the newlyweds popped outside for drinks and canapes before we went for a nice walk together to give the couple some time together to take in how great the day had been so far, and also to get some lovely images of them enjoying the day together. We had a walk round the golf course, near the lake and fountain and of course into the amazing gardens which created a perfect romantic setting. The couple reminisced about the day so far and laughed and chatted together whilst I documented them candidly.

Food, Speeches, Toasts & Dancing into the Evening

I was lucky enough to be able to sit and eat the gorgeous Wedding Breakfast with the family. The speeches were brilliant, with plenty of laughter and toasts. In the evening we were treated to a gorgeous first dance and some excellent dance moves from the rest of the family and friends. Congrats to this lovely couple, have a look through some of their images below!
